For those who have built their pwn PC's do any of you have any advice for someone new?

I built my first Desktop and its a lot of fun! I can highly recommend it; just for the experience, even if you never do it again. You will also learn useful things about computers and the market and the way the entire world works that you wll be able to take with you for the rest of your life!
Where even in conversations with IT or the elites in computing and computer science you will not be totally lost for the rest of your life you will remember selecting your RAMS timings and price to performance and how much faster is this RAM compared to the second best in real world applications... You will be able to give small day to day advice on all things computer to your girl or wife or parents for the rest of your life youll know a lot more about computers and even iphones to tvs...
If you are financially able do it I'd say give it try and do it, and 2023 seems to be a good time for it, before prices shoot back up again...
The best advice I can think to pass along to start with; is give yourself at least 3 Full Months to start researching parts. Inform yourself. Or even longer.
I mean really Geek out and immerse yourself in the learning process in your spare time. And there's nothing wrong with watching old 2014 Linus Tech Tip or Jay2Cents videos in the background as you read...

Just do yourself a favor and try not to half-step the reading or skim (too much) during your reading process especially when you find really good articles. And the reading about tech that will soon be used in your own pc that will eventually be used to have some sexy porn chick in 4k or 8k looking almost 3d or like she's literally right there in your room should also be some fun incentive!
But check out reputable websites and steer clear of reddit as you begin. I cant emphasize enough how you'll want to Read actual articles, don't just leave everything up to YouTube. YouTube will be an awesome tool but in the beginning Reading is the best way to really absorb and soak up the info to become knowledgeable on what you are about to sink thousands of dollars into.
Yes, at least One or Two THOUSAND dollars and possibly much more if you want the very best high end "Future-Proof" PC that will be amazing for years. where you will not have to worry about upgrades or missing out on anything for years.
In 2016 I spent around $1800 for the very top end of almost every component; sacrificing where I believed the actual real world benefit would not matter much to me.
But when I finally built my PC I had actually been reading off and on and watching videos for years waiting for the perfect processor and time to build. Intel at the time in 2016 had been releasing generation after generation of mediocre processors or what they called "ticks" in the earlier tick-tock cycle. and everybody knowledgeable kept assuring builders to wait a little longer if possible for the processor that would be a real leap forward.
Now I have a Desktop PC that I really love and haven't had to do anything but dust and clean for over 6 years and it runs Cyberpunk 2077 at maxed out settings easy... without having to upgrade since I built it in 2016!! I love it and the girls and PORN look ABSOLUTELY Phenomenal!!
Almost dare I say a mind-blowing experience!
But back to the topic at hand, and I confess I did upgrade to a newer bigger Samsung SSD Drive for my C drive.
The big win You Will attain by building your own PC is its lifespan and usefulness will be incredible! It will never be a joke or struggling to keep up for probably close to a decade; especially if you decide to add like more RAM in 5 or 6 years. But that is what all the research and money boils down to. You will have a super powerful Desktop PC for PORN, Gaming , Streaming, Porn, VR, messaging and security and securely-privately browsing the web lightening fast and pumping out your music like an audiophiles wetdream for many, many years.
You can start with maybe Toms Hardware and their Best Picks Reviews...

Then as you become more familiar with all the nerdy lingo and how tech is talked about you can branch out to more in depth hardcore reviews to start narrowing down your choices on what parts you want and will best serve your needs for everything you want your baby to excel in.

Pc Part Picker will probably be your best friend when you start to narrow all your options down and have a general idea of what you want. Set up Price Alerts for every part you might be considering. Like I set up 5 or 6 different alerts for all the different RAM I might've been interested in; and so on. Where until you start actually buying parts you'll be gauging the market price and if you get an alert for an incredible price on something you can jump on it. Instead of waiting till Black Friday and trying to buy everything in the one month like I made the mistake of doing, where some prices may be much lower before then.
Plus many PC PartPicker has many great build guides and other helpful advice and a forum full of computer builders from novice to of course expert and elite pc builders you can message and ask questions.
So sorry to get so long winded but yeah its fun, its worth it, and I can highly recommend it!
