Are aftermarket CPU coolers a necessity?
#1
I have an i7-7700, non-overclockable and I am currently running the stock cooler. It can get quite loud, but are the aftermarket coolers really that much quieter? Also, is there a possibility for a performance increase even if I can't overclock?

There’s no performance increase, but the aftermarket one will run cooler

You will not get more performance since you have a non K (overclockable) CPU but your temperatures will be pretty low (if you buy a decent one) and pretty quiet since your cpu isnt very demanding

aftermarket parts from my experience tend to be quieter and better at cooling althou the stock ones work pretty well too
