I've tried the demo and I didn't really enjoy it personally. I do enjoy building things but perhaps the open sandbox was too open to my liking and the barrier to entry to get started was too high in terms of knowledge acquisition as well as the tedious grinding aspect of resource gathering made me look elsewhere for a gaming diversion.
