I really enjoyed the point system, it makes the users have to contribute in order to get content and helps the forum to be an active and healthy environment

On the surface this is true but there’s a bit of a tug of war between implying noobies should spam lots of new threads to earn points, but not actually spam posts because that’s undesirable.

From what I can see in the non-saucy sections, there’s not that many new threads showing up, giving the impression that if I were to start making 1 new thread a day (about something vaguely meaningful enough that it wouldn’t be considered spam) I’d soon overwhelm the top page…which I don’t want to do.
