GTX 1070 to RTX 3070?
#1
Hy,

Is is worth switching to the new Nvida 30xx series ?
I has stabile fps and stuff with the 1070, but currenty the 30xx series prices decreased, that is why I thought about switching.
Maybe just wait for the next series, to lower the current prices ?

Yes, but it depends on the resolution. You will see the biggest difference at 4k. If you have a 1080p monitor then you need at least 240hz+, would be really stupid to buy a 3070 with a 1080p 60hz monitor. 2k 240hz is good and 4k 144hz is the best.

Theres always the chance that the same crisis happens with the next series, or that the next series is much more expensive. However, the 4000 series is expected to be on a smaller chip so the performance leap is likely to be huge. Honestly, for 1080p go for a 3060ti. Only get a 3070 for 1080p if you dont want to upgrade for a few years. Its a bad idea in the short term but a great one long term
