How to properly overkill building a new PC?
#1
I'm planning on getting a new PC as the one I have is growing really old and barely catching up with today's games and applications. How should I overkill properly and efficiently my new PC? What are the must gets and pointers to things I should avoid?

I want a PC that will help me program smoothly, photoshop and animation rendering quickly, VR, and of course gaming.

Are you buying a pre-built PC or making your own?

In my opinion the most important things to get are an SSD and a high-end graphics card if you plan to do VR and gaming. If you are getting a PC any time soon then be on the lookout for the new AMD processors later this year.

In general though it seems to be an expensive time to build a computer if you go that route, since everyone is apparently doing it to relieve their quarantine boredom.

In a few months there is a new graphics card coming out the 3080 and 3080 ti.  It's supposed to be the same price as the 2080(ti) series but better.

for sure u gottta get the best video card if u're gonna be doing VR work. Programming you can use anything, but gaming and VR spend as much money as possible for the smoothest experience.

i would dump as much money on the graphic card. cpu arnt really the limiting factor nowadays

Buy a prebuilt. Its cheaper than building your own.
