How do you fix the Jurassic franchise?

It seems the series has jumped the shark a bit with GenMod dinos and now we get this Alien 4 style hybrid looking thing and all of the stakes and tension are about the same. What can be done to bring the series back to awe and wonder instead of dino Kaiju films?
