Is GIMP any good?
#1
Imlooking at gimp as a free alt to Photoshop

Is it any good?

#2
Gimp is the best for linux users, of course that gimp have a different learning curve but if you have experience with photoshop probably will be easy to learn about GIMP, in youtube have a lot videos explaning the uses of GIMP

#3
GIMP is free, and Photoshop is not free, unless you download a pirated copy. Whichever one of those you want, go for it.

#4
You can do so much with GIMP that it's at least worth it to try.

there is also krita, which is open source too

I'd say gimp is a very good tool, but a lot of functions aren't very user-friendly. In my opinion Photoshop is a lot easier to use. And you can download the old Photoshop Version CS2 and use it for free.

#7
I really like it. Its worthwhile

#8
It's a free Photoshop. So yeah

#9
It'a a great open source alternative to photoshop. I had a bit of a harder time learning it, there are fewer tutorials, and it's less widely used.

GIMP is good, but it is not as widely used and less powerful the photoshop. You can also try Affinity which is cheaper than photoshop, but also very intuitive to use, and is an up and coming tool. Best of luck on your GFX journey.
