Honestly, I think python is very versatile and with extra modules, you can do a lot. I created my own account checker for the website my school has its grades on and have managed to get into multiple accounts. If you use selenium you can do quite a lot it isn't overly fast but its a good way to learn the basics and figure out how things work.

It is not as fast as Java but I would say that python is more powerful in some ways.
And with the rise of machine learning, Python is the go-to language for this field, in my opinion.
