Looking for a new survival game with base building and a story.  Is the forest a good game?

Forewarning, never personally played it, but have watched YouTube videos. It seems like a decent survival games with the ability to build bases and structures, doesn’t look like base building is really important though. As for the story, it can be a quick one or long one depending on how much time you spend doing other things besides progressing through the story. One more thing to add, the game also supports coop play so you could play with friends if they have the game too, including the storyline and everything else in the world.
