Seen a lot of discussion calling it a meme. I get that if you dedicate months to only being competant with one stack you limit your understanding of the underlying theory, but is it enough to build most applications / ideas today?

I've worked with exiting applications and had to build my own using the stack. Or close to it anyway.
Replace Mongo with MySQL and you have yourself a winner.
