Not so hidden but Sex Education was pretty good, same with Love, Death, and Robots.

I can at least say that my recommendation is absolutely not new or hyped, but I'm not sure how obscure it is. I'm a big fan of Japanese Style Originator which is a subtitled Japanese variety show that has a panel, some element of guest trivia, and documentary type looks into everyday Japanese life. If you're open to learning about Japanese culture with a bit of an emphasis on Japanese food I highly recommend it.
