Is socialism a better way to organize society than capitalism? Of course in Marx's theory capitalism was a necessary step to build up society on the road to socialism and eventually communism. In today's society we can see a lot of the pros and cons of a capitalist free market system. Some say the cons come from capitalism's faults and some say the cons come from the free market not being free enough. Of course with things like regulatory capture you can say these supposed barriers to true free market come from the market itself (at least, the big players in the market). Do you think free market capitalism will continue to create innovation and lower poverty in the future? Or will it merely increase the gap between rich and poor while potentially existential threats like climate change are ignored for short term profit?
