It looks like a shit show from all the news of how badly Japan is dealing with Covid cases. They have barely any vaccines within the general population and now they're in a state of emergency before the Olympics are even starting.

Maybe they need to do some sort of huge bubble like the NBA did? But I don't think Japan has the infrastructure for something like that.

Japan isn't dealing badly with the Covid cases at all. Japan is being punished and pressured by TPTB for not locking down their people and destroying their economy. Same reason that the Haitian President was assassinated. Same reason Kim of North Korea will be assassinated. Same reason the other nations' who didn't lock down will have their leaders assassinated. There's a tremendous amount of pressure on the Japanese PM to do the bidding of TPTB. Japan stepped out of line by not locking down their people and destroying their economy, all for the sake of a "disease" that has a 99.987% survival rate. OP, see this clearly, and realize we're in an active cold war.

Even the ones with podium potential? I can't imagine working your whole life to get to the olympics and just deciding not to go. Especially in the sports where your peak only lasts a couple years.
