This is a little rant coming from a long time anime fan. I'm not a gatekeeper and I think that anyone can and should be allowed to enjoy anime. Lately tho, ever since anime became more mainstream, the fan base has become quite toxic in my opinion. If you've been a, let's face it at this point, a week since the Naruto days, then you know that there are the weird kids who took everything to the horny extreme right? It's one thing to be naruto running down the halls of school and all that cringe, but these kids just loved shipping and would even cosplay as characters and film themselves in these horny situations and upload them to youtube. It was whack but we never really got mad at them because it's just how they express their own weird love for the anime.
So tell me now, after all this time, people want to come in and tell anime fans how to enjoy anime?? It'd the absolute worst I see this shit all the time. The biggest offenders are the my hero academia fanbase going around being weird and cringey and horny all the time right? It's like, these kids are literally just the same as the old ones and hell probably even inspired by the old hornies. But now you have these "normal people" coming in and telling them that they can't be themselves and show their love for the anime in this way anymore. To stop sexualizing teens and minors when they're minors themselves. "Oh why do we have to sexualize children why do we have to show so much skin" because it's to make teenagers, who the characters are by the way, like and have a crush on the character like what the fuck people.
It's all so hypocritical too because these people telling these kids to not be horny over anime, are also horny for anime! Oh but because they're "adults" it's ok to just be horny on main and sexualize people like Miriko and Hawks and shit. Or hell to go even further to ki k shame all the leash and bdsm shit the cosplayers too when they're on fucking twitter or tiktok shouting "spit on me daddy" or "give me those big mommy milkers" IT'S ALL THE FUCKING SAME BRO. NONE OF THIS IS REAL AND THE WHOLE POINT OF THE SHOW IS TO APPEAL TO THE RIGHT AUDIENCE, NOT YOU!!!
