That feeling of nostalgia
#1
Personally, I've found that gaming has become stagnant. While there are a few exceptions like Baldur's Gate 3 that manage to reignite the spark, I don't feel as captivated as I used to...
It leaves me wondering: is it simply nostalgia that makes old games appear superior, or is there something fundamentally amiss in modern AAA titles?

I think the issue might be that you're trying to fill that void with AAA games. Nowadays, most of the games that are breaking new ground and actually get quite immersive are the ones from no-name devs that are released on steam every other day. RPGs, Horror titles, existentialist comedies, even open world adventure-type games that are really quite fun usually don't come from the AAA makers we are familiar with but really do hold up. There are youtubers I follow to find any good games that pop up, and scrolling through new trending games on steam helps me find some good ones too.
