The longer you study a subject the more you realize that the links between that subject and other fields are connected. Wether it be by principles or mechanisms there is an innate commonality between subjects. This isn’t to say theres one giant thread connecting all of humanity’s collective knowledge together, but that all that knowledge connects to itself to eventually form a chain of links. A discovery or evolution in one field will drastically alter and affect the others. We tend to limit ourselves with the concept of categorizing our knowledge to more easily process the vast quantities of information but in doing so we set a limit to ourselves. We limit ourselves to a narrow perception of a particular field of study, expecting to change and find new results in the same worked earth over and over again without ever looking beyond your own scope.
TL;DR: If you ever feel stuck on a problem in life, the solutions might be in places you never thought to look.
