Destiny 1 is my favorite game of all time, but D2 fails to recreate the same eerie and magical feeling for me. What are your thoughts? Interested to see if it is nostalgia which creates my bias.

I didn't play D1, but I have had some fun playing D2. The story was somewhat interesting until the last two seasons, where it got really good. I actually paid for the latest season after not buying anything for Destiny 2.

Played the hell out of D1. D2 at launch just didn’t feel the same so I left. I came back for Beyond Light and it got better. I’m interested to see where the story goes but D2 doesn’t have me on it as much compared to D1
