What are your thoughts athletes competing for another country in the Olympics?

Personally I think this defeats the whole point of the Olympics but I wanna get your thoughts!

How many years did we have non-citizens playing for Team USA in Men's Basketball? And Naomi Osaka is a US citizen and an obvious American, but plays for Japan because her mom was a Jap, but still can't speak Jap very well. This is entirely normal.

it's fine. you can't blame those athlete to grab the best possibility to compete with the best of the best

Kinda sucks cause they represent their country say they at least have the same ethnicity but cant blame athletes if they take the chance cause everyone wants glory

I think its actually pretty cool that they have the option to even do that, do they also need a dual citizenship. Im guessing they do.

I think it's OK if you represent a country of one of your parents but I don't really like it when countries like Qatar just pay athletes to represent them when they have no affiliation with the country. It's good for those athletes but I would prefer if they were competing for their own country.
