I would like a budget japanese 'sports' car. My choices are Toyota 86, BRZ, Type R, Mazda MX-5.

I am currently leaning towards mx5 for its really cute design especially the soft top. Any inputs?

Depends what you’re wanting.
The Miata doesn’t really allow for a lot of room. It’s a small trunk, can only fit one other person in it.

I’d go test drive them, see what you like. Stay away from Hyundai and Kia as they are getting stolen left and right and the Nissan Altima is just a POS

Also, worth considering getting whatever would be most functional for you right now, it's your first car! It can be easy to start worrying about every pretty car out there that you want so badly, but you'll regret it if the car doesn't help make your life easier as much as it should. i would go for a japanese car. they are very reliable. as a first car you want to enjoy driving without the hassle of constantly being in the shop
