Will movie theaters ever recover from the pandemic?
#1
Do you think movie theaters are ever going to recover from Covid?
A bunch of mine have closed permanently, and with more and more studios release their stuff on streaming services.
I wonder if theaters are ever going to find a reason to open up again. It will be at least another year until theaters open up worldwide i think.

With "Netflix and chill", projectors becoming cheaper, online streaming, and producers providing early theatre releases to consumers there's less incentive to actually go inside a crowded theatre with ever increasing ticket prices. Movie theatres will have to change the atmosphere to lure in customers and plenty have. Many movie theatres are starting to shift it into a more comfortable adult experience with adult beverages, better seating, and even dining, so there still a market for those who want to get away from the home. I don't believe movie theatres will ever recover to the same status as before unless they can gain exclusive rights to air films again which might not possible if film companies are making more of a profit otherwise.

Especially with things like disney plus gearing themselves up for long term content replacing/ supplementing theaters its gonna be even harder for traditional cinemas to survive.

i think it will be difficult. especially many people swapped to the streaming platforms. but also going to the cinema is also a event. its also a better place for a first date when meetign someone  new than sitting on a couch and watching netflix. so i guess they will eventually be fine.
