Is wow classic still a populated game 6 months after it's been released? I played when it was released and I'm wondering if I should get back to it

I played at release and loved ever moment then blizz pulled the dumb hong kong shit so i stopped

I mostly play retail, but I'm classic is still populated - it increased the game's subscriber numbers like crazy and they're still actively releasing content for it.
