4k or 1440p monitor

4K only if you play single player games.

#23
1440p for sure

#24
Probably a 1440p because it'll be easier to run too and fully use that 144hz

#25
Definitely agree with this, it will also future proof as time goes on, you’ll have to replace lower res quickly once 6 or 8k become standard

#26
4k definitely

#27
I use a 1440p monitor with high refresh rate

#28
If you can afford 4K it's better but 1440p i also good.

#29
I had a 16:9 4k monitor for both work and gaming and it just wasn't practical.
Now I run a 32:9 1440p and life is just so much better. The only downside being watching videos etc don't look quite as good. But just use a laptop/tv for watching content.

#30
I think that the difference in price is not worth the small amount of improvement from 1440 to 4k.

#31
Both very interesting choices

#32
either if its atleast 144hz

#33
1440p imo, both are good tho

#34
1440p ultrawide

#35
Depends on the budget and what you’re looking for. Def wanna get at least 120hz

#36
1440 144hz all the way

#37
1440 144hz if you play fps or fighting games. 4k monitors are nice but not many with great refresh rates yet

#38
A lot of factors here. PPI in particular. If you were to sit right up on a 60 inch 4k TV as a monitor it would look aweful but definitely better than a 1440 monitor. From the other side of a room you probably wouldn't notice any difference at all.

Refresh rates above 120 are a scam because there isn't really anything that exists in the mainstream that can supply that kind of a signal. Someone is probably going to argue this, and that someone is wrong.

More pixels means more resources. A 4k monitor is equivalent to 2.25 1440 monitors, and you would probably be better served by 2 1440s with the thinnest bezels you can find, or else a 32:9 monitor.

1440p is a solid resolution for 23-27" monitors. I wouldn't be able to go back to 1080p after using a 24" 1440p monitor for the last 2 years now. 4k is tough to even play at unless you have quite a beast of a machine or are willing to scale down quality in game so i'd say go with 1440p and you shouldn't be disappointed.

If it works its good enough for me.
