A few of my thoughts on the Forum
#1
Firstly just wanted to say I really like this site and the community. The Mods work well to ensure a great site and the community does great work in sharing what we all have together.

I've gone through some of the feedback/suggestions and had a few of my own but just wanted to address a few things that others have mentioned first.

I see so many people complain about contribution levels / credits etc. I can't remember which thread it was but a few people were going back and forth talking about how this site is a scam because you have to post to see links and if you post too much without sharing content yourself then you get a warning. For anyone who thinks like this, I just wanted to say a big massive fuck you. That's the rudest I'll ever be on this site. How can you think you can come to a website and take everything you want without giving anything back in return? Honestly earning contributor points / credits / whatever you wanna call it is very easy... All you have to do is actually give back to the community and not just take take take. One small measley leak is all we ask for in return for the Terabytes of porn you don't have to pay a penny for. I think the way this website separates the contributors from the leachers is very fair and if you disagree then read this post.

Anyways, let me get to my points now. Note that these are all just suggestions, if you disagree please let me know. Discussion is what will make this website better.

1. Firstly I think the site needs a few more sections (more SFW sections as well as NSFW). There should be a few votes to see which sections the people want. You could have a sports section, gambling section, etc. If thats not the direction the mods want to go in then I understand but there should definitely be more areas for members to post, talk, mingle, socialise etc.

2. I'm not sure how but I think there should be a more streamlined way of posting to see content. As an Onyx member I dont need to post on a thread to be able to see links, however every thread just gets filled with loads of unnecessary posts that are usually just gibberish. All I'm saying is I wish there was another way that people could view hidden links so that only meaningful comments get posted under a thread instead of 100 comments of "can't wait to see this". If posting in the leaks section was beneficial then I think we'd see a lot more follow ups and extra MEGA links in comments but for now people don't do that because they know their post will get lost amongst all the bots commenting random shit to get a link.

3. I'm a bit weary to suggest this as I think it will be abused, but maybe we could explore a paid content section of the site? For example a separate section dedicated for people who want to sell NSFW content. I know the mods might not like this because they would want a cut. I think if there was a way to pay through the site then the mods could regulate it and also take a small cut for themselves to keep everyone happy. I know this is difficult because of the nature of the site, almost everything leaked is copyrighted so we can't use any whitehat payment methods like paypal. I'm only suggesting this as most of you know I have content to sell aside from all the free leaks I post, all I really want is a place to advertise what I'm selling but I'm weary of doing it here because I have a feeling the Mods won't like it.

4. Higher character limit for signatures

5. Ban non-MEGA links - not all file transfer sites should be banned. But some are just ridiculous. Firstly, a lot of the file transfer links that I see are either fake links or it's a website that doesn't allow previews. I have no problem with sites such as mediafire and wetransfer but there should be more of a crackdown on threads that don't contain MEGA/Drive/Dropbox links in general.

6. Before I became an Onyx member, I spent a lot of time on this site and many others similar to it. The thing I hated the most about being a free member of these types of sites is wasting your limited amount of posts on a thread that has a dead link. Especially when you're looking for something in particular and find it on a thread from 3 months ago but by the time you get to it, it's already dead and gone. Maybe the website can explore some form of refund for dead links? For example if you waste a post on a dead link, you can report it and get your post back. If you spend credits on a dead link then you can get a refund on your credits (this may already be the case, I just have no way to test it as an Onyx member). It would definitely encourage free users to keep coming back to the site if they know that they're not going to lose all their posts/credits on a bad leak.

7. Are credits even necessary as a Onyx member? I don't think I've ever spent any. If they're only useful to free members then I'll probably just give mine all away to contributing free members.

8. Dead links - How often are these checked? Does the reupload bot go through and test every single thread on the site at regular intervals or does it just check random posts and reupload based on popularity? If the bot detects a dead link, is the thread automatically moved to the dead link section of the site? If not, it should. And all threads should be checked regularly for dead links so that they can be moved if neccessary. Maybe the "Working/Not Working" rating could show you how many people have rated the link in last week or the last 3 days rather than the last month. If someone rated something as working 25 days ago then there's no guarantee it still works now. If I could see people rating it as working in the last week or working in the last 3 days then as a free member I would know if it's worth the risk of wasting a post.

I feel like I'm just rambling at this point so I'll leave it at that and make another post if I can think of anything else.

Thanks for being one of the many people who understand how and why this was implemented. I got frustrated with the lack of understanding and made an update where I posted screenshots of people who try to spam to get free links, but it's always nice to see people realise that we NEED a system in place. It's was makes us different to others in our niche and ensures we have quality that stays up.

We as a team are always open to criticism, and we are open to suggestion.

I think you are absolutely right. I will make a thread today and I have a very good idea how to implement this.

I am Stil thinking of a way to do this. The problem is, these are real people whoa posting and no bot spam. It is the holy grail to find a way to stop users from posting garbage, and yet still allow users to post and share. For example. If you requested a leak in a thread, and a non upgraded user replied, we have to allow that, but at the same time, it's impossible to stop another user from commenting because there is no way to know if they are going to be contributing to the topic or just spamming. Literally as soon as users sign up, they are told in the welcome PM that spamming will not work on the forum and they will not be able to access anything in that manner. Yet people still do. Most then 75% of my time is spent cleaning up the forum spam and banning users. The other 25% is of course checking to make sure new threads have working links.

This is in the books. As you may or may not be aware, we are beind schedule on a major site upgrade. This will include stuff like
  • New discussion area for paid members only. (elite and Onyx)
  • A selling tool using a bot as the middleman. Initially using cryptocurrency only. *** More info on this soon
  • A thread voting system to mimic karma on reddit. This way you can weed out crap.
  • New site theme for better mobile response.

jm431451 Wrote:4. Higher character limit for signatures

Done. I have basically doubled the character limits for signatures.

This is something I have been struggling with myself. As users make a new thread, they are reminded of some basic forum rules. One of which is broken on a daily basis, but we let slide (including a preview image). The other being file hosts. Mega is great because it allows previews, video playback, instant import and thus is the preferred host, but users often use dropbox, drive and anonfiles. Most of these are okay, some are sketchy at best and often slow to useless. Also we have seen a resurgence of users uploading images directly to imgur creating albums (not preview images, those are best hosted on imgur) but actual files themselves and we have been allowing them, for the time being.

That may soon change.

Please do! This is what credits are for (as an upgraded member. Ideally it is in the road map that upgraded members will get credits every week that they can "donate" to users they like, specially if they have just shared an awesome leak or something (which then those users can spend on other leaks)

The bot runs and reuploads when a mod manually moves a thread to Broken Links. The dev made a change just yesterday that the bot will now make a post and add the keyword Reuplaoded to a thread that is reuploaded.

Thanks! Your suggestions are very valuable to the improvement of our community. I understand that my saying that we have things in the works may not placate some of your responses, but unfortunately until I hear from my Devs, its the best I can do Smile This year is going to be amazing for us.

I feel like getting contribution level up is way harder now with the changes

#4
How is it even possible for people to find content to post on here? Not everyone has access to leaks like the ones on this forum, so you're kindof asking for the impossible.

#5
Or just make some posts with open links that can only be viewed as member. It is hard to know if it is all real when you just open account and can't see anything

#6
I do think the website itself is nice tho

#7
Liking the forum so far.

#8
Its just the method of anti spamming this site use, that is creating some complications of course but atleast it keep the spammers at bay

Do you think the contributors on this site have magic wands that we wave and all of a sudden we have access to any leak we want? Of course not.

To contribute, you'd have to find stuff to share and then share it. That is the same way we all do it.

We don't all have magical access to something that you're banned from seeing... we search the internet for things to share and then we share them. If you're not willing to do the same then why are you here?
