Do you think that in todays day in age it is still worth it to learn to program or will AI just do all the heavy lifting. Or could AI learn to program itself leading to no more human interaction?

Learn basic programming. And even if AI does the heavy lifting in next 5 years or so, people with programming experience will be better skilled than people without.

What's the point in trying to program? Are you trying to get a job? Because if you don't learn a basic competence, the interview will bounce you out immediately.
