Maybe make it so you can close out of the notifications that show up at the top and dismiss them so they won't show again? For example I have one at the top that says 

You are currently using a remote avatar, which has been disabled. The default avatar will be used instead.

I know I can just change my avatar but it would feel more fluid to be able to just dismiss notifications that I am aware of if that makes any sense.

Yes, it is strange that this notification can't be removed and is hovering at all times.
