Anyone else thinks better call saul is better than the original breaking bad?

Really enjoyed breaking bad so i decided to watch the spin-off, which, in my opinion, is better than the original.

The writers had way more freedom with Better Call Saul given the success with breaking bad and I think that lead to much better writing.

Weird enough I actually agree with you! Probably thanks to the writers' previous experience

They're totally different types of shows. Breaking Bad was a tragedrama and Better Call Saul is a comedrama.

Breaking Bad was also written in a pre-streaming time when content had a tight narrative structure and character arcs.

Better Call Saul was written specifically for the streaming audience by streaming writers who specifically write to mix comedy with drama and create unlikeable likeable characters (our current formula).

Other than sharing the same fictional world, they are completely different.

I think BCS will make the pivot to more tragedrama in the final season only because I think the resolution of the non-BB characters (ie Kim) will be pretty tragic. (Not predicting she dies, but there's probably a good reason we don't ever see/her about her in BB).

To answer the main question: It is hard to say one is better than the other as they are quite different. It's also hard to judge since one is a completed series while the other still has one season to go. BB had such a great finale/resolution that if BCS somehow doesn't stick the landing (which I don't think will happen, Vince is an amazing storyteller) you will probably hear that BB is superior.
