Quentin Tarantino was a breath of fresh air to a movie industry that was getting saturated in personal dramas and Star Wars ripoffs. His films are very unique which is why he was so lauded throughout the 90s and 00s.
I don't think he is overrated, but I do think his more recent films still use a style that I think is played out now.
Another commenter mentioned Pulp Fiction being slow, but at the time it was loud, violent, funny and exciting.
It still is, and yes it is a bit rough around the edges (Reservoir Dogs is even more rough). But for what it is, it's still a great film.
Kill Bill is definitely his masterpiece though.
