I have recently watched the austin powers trilogy through for the first time since they were released and i came away with two thoughts, one was they ahave letf the scott evil story open and would love to see how scott would preform as a super villain. 2nd was that i only really found myself really laughing at the first film (mole scene from 3 being the exception) i didnt hate the other two and enjoyed myself when watching them, i just didnt find them as funny.

Should they make a fourth? or was it a trilogy of its time with diminishing quality as the trilogy went on?

Netflix should totally take that on, but I don't think Hollywood would take the risk as they've obviously played it safe with perpetual reboots and I don't believe the current climate would be receptive with that type of comedy, but I might be wrong. Is the SCTV/SNL age still alive?

i think the audience is still there in the privacy of there own home haha, dont think anyone in todays cultural climate would admit to wanting to see a very sexist film. however the waynes world segments were the highest rated during the snl aniversary episode so people want to see more of mike myers

Every Adam Sandler Netflix Original turned up a huge profit and that's usually the incentive for making those annual horror movies and comedies in the past as money was always being raked in for a low budget. I thought "Love Guru" was the decline for the popularity of Mike Myers, so I'm curious if mass appeal would be here today. I suppose even though people were criticizing Adam Sandler movies, I'm sure he can wipe his tears away with cash money.

I don't think a fourth AP would go over very well, even if they had great writing behind it. It's been almost a generation since the original AP, and 007 doesn't have as much pull among the younger generation, which is where AP got part of its humor from. And with all the entertainment coming out now (Netflix, Amazon, Apple, etc), it'll be hard to float to the top for everyone to see.

Yes, but have a different lead. Myers shoidl still be in it but he shouldn't be Austin. Instead of Austin should be an 90's bond joke with the current techy setting.
