I agree on the 5700XT but another very similar alternative is the RTX 2060 which look cheaper then the 5700XT when searching for cheap GPUs.

$500 is not considered budget at all. That's enough to get you a really decent one. If you're diligent you can probably shop around and find a used 1080TI. That's probably best bang for your buck.

Honestly, You could find a used RTX 2080's at that price on eBay, or better yet. Get an RTX 2070 with that price there some good deals around Amazon, eBay, Newegg etc...

but if you still want a budget (ish) one try the Nvidia 1660

The gtx 1050 ti is a great budget gpu. You can run any game on it, not on max settings but thats not the end of the world, and it's even good for vr.

One of the best gpus is the rx580 no doubt. There is also the gtx 1660 ofc.
