trying to learn french atm but struggling. The language structure is kind of similar but words are just not sticking in my head. Having english as a first language seems to help but only to some exent. Im currently using a beginner level textbook but motivation has been down to complete it. 

Does anyone have any tips to stay motivated? any tips on learning french too?

Staying motivated, that's a hard one, currently I'm learning Russian and a it's hard to stay focused, but setting goals for yourself, and rewards for accomplishing those goals is a good place to start.
