so I bought a Canon 80d last year because I read a lot of great reviews about it. I only have a kit lens at the moment though which I know isn't great. But also I'm now finding a lot of things that annoy me, especially considering the 80d is meant to be  "up there"
For example, theres no way to shoot in LOG the closest you can get is "natural" which is still not as good at all  but cheaper Canon models have different LOG profiles..... what's that about?

Anyone recommend good DSLR's for filming? I don't often take many photos I usually video about 80% of the time

Sony are doing great things in the dslr space, the main reason they're not more popular is most people are heavily invested in either canon or nikon glass and switching is super expensive. If you only have a kit lens then you don't have that problem and may want to have a look.

Recommend the Canon 7D or the 5D if you're really serious about filiming. 80D is a good start but you can find some older 7D's in the same price range. Clean the sensor and get a good EFS lens and you'll be all set!

I have an old Nikon DLSR that works great

You don't need canon log - it's only available on their top end cameras. In fact, it's even a paid upgrade on the 5DIV - which is a $3000usd base camera.

well imo DSLR are really great but maybe you could look into DSLMs because there are so advanced right now that i would prefer them for filming
