Like a lot of you I'm sure, I had that "Plastic Love" song recommended to me on YouTube a few years ago. I really loved that song when I heard it, and decided to check out the whole album from Mariya Takeuchi. Now I'm kind of on a old J-Pop kick, and was wondering if anyone had any artists they could recommend me. I'm especially looking for more of that city pop sound, but anything will do.

I think Plastic Love is from 80s? I don't know if you can replicate Mariya Takeuchi.
Best I can recommend would be Amuro Namie. Nice female vocalist. She became popular in 90s.
There is also X Japan but I am not sure if that is what you are looking for.
