Cloud Storage Problems

Did anyone else feel like this wasn't a trustworthy/safe way to keep your files when it first was announced? Time has already proven this with all the hacks going on with celebrities and such. What are your views on this?

The cloud is just a computer that someone else owns. If you want to secure your files, you put it on your own computer, not someone else's.

Depends on whether you're talking commercial or end-user cloud storage. It'd be a pain getting the same durability you get in the cloud by yourself. But for sensitive data additional client side encryption certainly makes sense for services like Dropbox or OneDrive

The Celebrity hacks are caused by misuse of cloud storage and aren't an inheriant issue with the technology

Ha! I have never trusted any kind of cloud-based storage. I don't think it will ever be 100%.
