I believe it's possible but AI makes mistakes, and you'd need to understand those to "guide" it through the process.
In other words you actually need to be able to code in the first place.
Security would be another issue if you didn't understand what's being written, and what's missing.

I use it to write small python based applications for my job. It can confidently do 200 lines of scripting before it starts fucking up, in my experience lol.
