Right, this has probably been talked to death but I want to start a new thread.

I have some questions

1. Can you mine for only set times in the day, say half the day? Can you still min this way or does it have to be non stop til you get your reward?

2. Is mining certain Coins still worth it?

3. What's the alternative?

4. IF you were to mine what is the best software to use? Please give examples for each Altcoin

Just use nicehash. It mines whatever is most profitable on your hardware, then plays you in bitcoin. It has miners for tons of coins. If your electricity is free, or your hardware is nice, it's valuable.

I'm sure it would let you schedule mining.

Nicehash is just a middle man though, I dont wanna pay middle man lol
