So my question of the day is about the disney remakes that have been happening as of late and what people’s genuine thoughts are. Are they really as bad as people say or are they just the old stories with a new coat of paint? If it’s the latter then what makes that a bad thing?

I personally hate them. I've seen two of them (Lion King and Aladdin) and I think they're a cheap cash grab made by a creatively bankrupt company trying very hard to commercialize nostalgia. It hits me really hard, because I used to love Disney movies as a kid.

Not a fan of the remakes - Aladin just didn't feel the same - the originals are just classics so Disney need to spend more time thinking up new ideas rather than making bad versions of old ones.
