Do you enjoy all the hollywood remakes?
#1
It's hard not to take notice of the overwhelming amount of movies these days that are just remakes of old classics, do you like that your favorite movies keep getting remade or would you rather they be left alone as the classics they are..? Undecided

Eh it depends. Like in general I think it's better to make something new. However, if the director or people behind the movie have something good to add then I'm all for it.

Also like there are only so many stories that can exist so really a lot of stuff is a remake of a remake of a remake. A good example is the seven samurai, magnificent seven, bugs life, and then remake of magnificent seven. Like is a an old story so there's only so many ways to remake it.

God no...I wish they'd just come up with something new and leave the classics alone.

Mostly originals are best but some have been ok

#5
Remakes are sometimes okay but most of the time they're just crap.

I hate Hollywood remakes. They always screw it up in some way or another, and turn it into a farce of sorts. I think this new Dune movie is going to suck.

#7
They're basically running out of ideas.

Nah. Complete trash. Like make a new movie. Why does everything have to be an adaptation

#9
No, it's mostly shit and it will be over sexualized and poorly written

Everything in Hollywood is oversexualized. EVERYTHING. Including the stuff you don't see.
>don't ask who got Jamie Lynn Spears pregnant when she was 12

i think that most movies hit b/c they either hit on something in the current culture so it is generally really hard to get it to work again

Kinda sucks going into a remake when you've already seen the original, because you'll always be comparing it to the original, and there's a good chance it won't stack up, even if it isn't a bad movie. I wonder if I had seen the original The Fly or The Thing first, would I have not like the remakes as much as I do.

Yeah I probably would. Those were legit. Are we counting sequel/reboots in this too, like Halloween 2018?

no not really

#15
I hate that. Zero creativity...

Arrow Any like will be much much appreciated guys. Cheers ! Sick

i feel like some of the movie ideas are just being recycled because hollywood has ran out of ideas but some reboots dont seem so bad

#17
No look how they butchered my Lion King.

I personally liked the new Jumanji films. The concept was original and funny.
