I used when i was in school and now i mostly use gel or ball point pens. Writing speed with ink pen is slow when compared to ball point.

Love the idea but didn't have the patience to learn to use them

I use a few

My first was the Lamy Safari, really reliable and durable 

Then I got the Kaweco sport, which is super tiny but when you connect the cap onto the other end it becomes a normal length pen 

I also have a Pilot Kakuno, which is meant to be a fountain pen to teach kids how to write, but the nib is just so fine and the design is quite cute

The cartridges finish super quick if you are writing a large volume hense we have ball point pens nowdays. This is thing of the past
