Do you think Reddit will end up like Tumbler with NSFW content removed ?

Just like Tumblr, reddit has many sub for unsafe Hardcore NSFW with lots of members in them, do you think they'll eventually end up like Tumblr ? Given that the name Reddit is very trending nowaday.

I think reddit relies on it too much, i bet there is probably an even number if not more NSFW subs than there is SFW

#3
Unless it gets bought out by yahoo/oath I doubt it's gonna happen, they get too much of their money from there. Go to any GW related sub or nude sub and you'll see lots of the people posting being given silver or gold and it'll be multiple per post and reddit is the one that gets that money

#4
I don't think so, there are a ton of NSFW subs.. and like they said, reddit relies on it too much for $

#5
i really dont hope so

#6
I don't think so - NSFW stuff drives too much traffic towards the site, provides us with a platform to communicate with entertainers too. It's too vital business wise.

#7
On reddit I've a NSFW and a SFW account, so if that happens I still be using the SFW.
But Tumbler was dead on the spot for me when became SFW only.

#8
Haha that's never gonna happen

#9
I really don't think so

#10
naah that would kill the whole site

#11
I don't think Reddit will remove NSFW content. There's too much money involved in that section.

#12
Reddit only comes down hard on things when the media gets involved, however due to how much they rely on porn th media will have to have somethig major

#13
It honestly depends on how out of control it gets and what they want to do in the long run. If they want to focus on getting media partners and advertisers on their site then they can't afford any bad press when it comes to the NSFW subs, so they'll heavily moderate them. But if they want to really focus on the $$$ then they'll most likely get rid to avoid any scrutiny and unease by partners, but keep in mind this is what Tumblr did and it basically killed the site and it's userbase.

As long as they don't get bought by some huge faceless company

#15
I do think there is a lot of value in the SFW sub-reddits, so the site can definitely work without the nudes.
There might be a smackdown on piracy, paid content and the more extreme stuff in the future, but I expect things like GW would be pretty hard to shut down and still retain their reputation of the "Forums of the whole internet"

#16
Nah I don't think so, they try hard to represent themselves as a site that fights for internet freedom and censorship of NSFW would be against that

I honestly don't think Reddit can afford to remove all the NSFW content, it's such a huge percentage of the posts

#18
They won't. Theyll just take down subs with bad reputations

#19
definitely wont happen unless big money comes in and tells them to

#20
I don't think so. There are so much and reddit can only losing if it does
