Does anyone here use COBOL?
#1
I know that COBOL is still used in fringe areas, largely around mainframes. Kinda just curious what the chances are that someone that will see this ever uses it lol, and what for

Learned it in high school funnily enough along with RPG and a few other things on a good old AS/400. Never used it since but it’s fun to go browse through some source every now and again to see how much is still kicking around in my head.

I had COBOL in school too, although at the time I was teaching myself C and compared to that and the other less verbose languages we had used before couldn't stand how much typing it took to do the same things. Although we were learning about business system programming so it definitely made that easier with all of the built-in things it has for records processing, etc.
