I can't get over how good GoldenEye was at the time. Still miss that kind of game design, in which the game just lets you loose somewhere and you do your stuff any way you want.

Megaman 2 is still one of my favorites. Such fun, memorable stages and themes. Also it's not as hard as the first one!

I'm shocked that nobody has mentioned NES Tetris. What a shameful dishonor to the pantheon of retro games. Tetris will always be in our hearts forever. Still comes factory-installed on Nokia burner phones. This game will live forever.
