What is your favorite manga/anime from any year? A manga that I'm really into is Drifters which is about various historical people fighting in a fantasy world. Drifters is made by the same guy who made Hellsing. One bad thing is the author making it is quite slow.

My favorite manga for forever has been Dorohedoro. It's dark and gritty, with a seriously cool 90s punk grunge aesthetic. Recently Netlfix did an anime adaptation. The art style they chose was 3D CGI, but it honestly translated better than I thought.

Give this anime the ol' 3 episode challenge and I swear to you by the end of those 3 episodes you will be utterly hooked by this story's bizarre and captivating mystery.

Warning: Contains graphic violence and nudity, but that only makes it cooler

Yeah drifters is great and it might be done in another 15 years or so. He releases like 8 pages every few months...
Probably as good and likely to get done as Hunter X Hunter.
