I liked the self contained origin stories the most in the Marvel series of films and my favorite has to be Dr.Strange followed by Antman. The reason why I like self contained stories is that they're much more accessible for the uninitiated because it doesn't take a lot of outside knowledge such as reading the comics or references from previous movies to understand and enjoy the film. Viewing the MCU objectively one can see that they have to walk a fine line with ostracizing new audience members by pandering to the fanbase with too many inside jokes and lack of exposition. For Marvel fans, what was your favorite origin story movie?

I need to give Guardians of the Galaxy a rewatch, I couldn't get into it the first time, I like the characters but the story was unmemorable to me.

my fav is always the ant man. its humorous, down to science and sticks well to the main plot line!

Probably ant man. His was interesting as it wasn't 100% serious but also kept a solid amount of drama. It was also by far the funniest marvel movie.
