Favorite Wes Anderson Movie?
#1
I've been on a bit of a Wes Anderson kick lately. In the past few weeks I've watched Isle of Dogs, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Rushmore. Before that, over the years I've also seen The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Moonrise Kingdom, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Have yet to watch The Royal Tenenbaums but will probably watch that next. Of all those, Moonrise Kingdom has to be my favorite.

What's yours?

The Royal Tenenbaums is my favorite.

Its such a low energy movie, its fascinating.

Royal Tenenbaums is the original polished Wes Anderson film that has the right balance of all his typical elements (Bottle Rocket and Rushmore are too rough).

After that, I find him to almost be a self-parody.

Life Aquatic was a bit dull, Moonrise Kingdom was only ok but saved by its setting, and Grand Budapest was a mismatch for his droll humor but saved by its setting as well.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is very enjoyable, partly because the animation distracts from the typical Anderson-isms.

I went through his list as a director, and I have not seen any of his movies, wow.
