Films to put in a vault to show people 500 years from now.
#1
What ten films would you place in a vault to show people what our film industry was like. For me its

1. Shawshank redemption
2. Terminator 2
3. clerks
4. The Goonies
5. The Dark Knight
6. Lion King
7. Avengers infinity war/endgame
8. The Lost boys
9. Vertigo
10. Requiem for a dream

That's a pretty large scope of a question due to a vast amounts of genres spanning more than a century. You can look up the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress for films and even some of those choices might seem strange. Paring down to ten films realistically could be iconic films from each decade that may be representative of the time but that's still within hindsight bias and it would be self selecting for more critically acclaimed films which naturally exclude more lower brow films which may have ostensibly represented the period of time more accurately than safe Oscar bait. Historical perspectives tend to be academic and sterile compared to admittedly mundane anecdotal reality.

Christopher Nolan

Paul Thomas Anderson
Peter Jackson
Wes Anderson
David Fincher
Ridley Scott
Coen Brothers
Terry Gilliam
