I understand how the contribution system work but it seems a little silly how commenting/telling someone a request is being worked on on the request board would still give me -50 contribution.  Isn't that a little discouraging to people who are filling these requests?

Unfortunately like most things on this site this was done because of people abusing it to get points.

Look through the threads, many people treat requests like regular sections and assume that there is content there. I am looking to improving the contributor system but it's complex and takes time to adjust
