Its just been announced that an entire span of upcoming movies are coming to streaming services instead of theatres, and it looks like movie theatre is dead. Anyone ever had a soft spot for the cinema? or is this this a welcome change? Will this make piracy easier and better or increase the government clampdown on the internet because of entertainment lobbyists?

Yea im not too opposed to the idea of moving cinematic experiences to the tv screens of home owners upon release. Im a big movie theater guy but i can definitely enjoy them at home if need be.

In my town all the big single showing room movie theaters got taken out of business when a couple of big multi showing theaters . The closed movie theaters eventually became churches and theaters for small plays. I expect that will be the fate of many independent theaters after covid.
