GSYNC or FreeSync
#1
Anyone know which one is objectively better? I use a GSYNC monitor, but I'm thinking of switching b/c it's cheaper.

GSYNC is better because dedicated hardware in the monitor so yea this is more of a budget question? TBH both the performance & monitor cost difference is so minor though.

#3
There is a new feature on GSYNC Compatible on FreeSync Monitors. The difference is not really huge

#4
So the cost of paying for GSYNC is probably not worth it then?

#5
Yup. Just look for freesync monitors that are compatible to G-Sync.

#6
Gsync compatible =/= gsync

While gsync compatible might solve problems with screen tearing, it doesnt have the full functionality of gsync. Simply, it is "good enough". You can google gsync vs gsync compatible to find the graph nvidia put out when they first introduced gsync compatible.

#7
should i get 144hz monitor for rts games ??

#8
You should get a 144hz monitor if your system can handle it .

#9
if price is an issue go for FreeSync, otherwise, G-Sync.

#10
144Hz or even 100Hz is my recommendation. Anything above 144Hz is a scam.

Go with your budget imo, you'll not be so adversely affected in gameplay that it'll be the deciding factor if you become a top 5% of players.

#12
Most of the freesync monitors are now gsync compatible

#13
By now, I think Freesync is as good as Gsync and you don't need to pay the nvidia tax

Apparently at the end of the day, both are giving the same results.
