Pokemon has been huge since forever, and there hasn't been too many innovations to the franchise. Outside of some generational mechanics added, each new game just changes around the pokemon and upgrade the graphics. Is gamefreak being lazy by never adding animations?

Honestly, gamefreak has been pretty slow to do anything new as a company. I think sw/sh dlc with a full open world is probably the direction they're heading in

With the whole DLC thing and not adding all the mons to the roster, I'm sure they're spending their time finding out how they can make the most money at easy as possible.
